IMPORTENT COMMENT NOTE!
IF YOU LEFT A COMMENT ON THIS SITE AND I HAVE NOT RESPONDED PEASE E-MAIL ME AT cltamaz@yahoo.com I AM CURRENTLY NOT GETTING COMMENTS IN A READABLE FORMAT. THANK YOU.
1. WHAT MATERIALS DO YOU USE?
A. Pastels, ink, colored pencil, charcoal and chalk.
2. WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR IDEAS FROM?A. I don't know (does anyone?). ....when I begin a painting I have a general idea of what I want to do, but I usually go wherever my mind takes me. I suppose, also, that a lifetime spent watching cartoons, sci-fi movies and reading comic books has something to .do with it2
3.WHO ARE YOUR INFLUENCES? A. Again, comic books and cartoons, but the artists who inspired me include Picasso, M.C. Escher, Heironymous Bosch, Chuck Jones and Stan Lee.
ARE YOU STONED WHEN YOU DO THESE PAINTINGS??A. This usually is asked by teenagers or aging hippes. The answer is NO! If I was, I wouldn't do them--I'd just sit and stare into space. I suppose there are examples of people who were under the influnce while creating, but the ones who come to mind include Edgar Allen Poe, Van Gogh, Kurt Cobain and Andy Warhol--and on a personal level it didn't work out too well for them.
IS CLTAMAZ YOUR REAL NAME? A. No, but it is a variation. When I first started looking into a website, I googled my real name and got almost 33 million hits. An actor, a best selling author and a United State senator are among the many who share my name. I didn't want to get lost in that crowd, so I began using a name I originally used years ago when I was a silversmith. As far as my real name goes, just navigate to the ordering page and you'll find it.
Here you will see all of my major works, with new stuff added as it is completed. Feel free to leave comments, e-mail or snail-mail me to tell me how much you love-or not-my art.
You can follow the links to place orders or view some of the stuff from the attic, or basement, of my mind. You can see my comic strip, cartoons from the Clinton era, characters I've created who are trapped in my creative limbo etc., etc., etc.
This site is a work in progress. Feel free to criticize it or suggest changes.
Have a nice trip...

This calendar begins Sept., 2009, and goes through all of next year. I took mass quantities of photos of the Yavapai County Courthouse, The Plaza and Whiskey Row--in every season, in all kinds of weather and and at all times of the day--then inserted some of my favorite "actors" into selected shots, creating mini-stories and instant tableaus of what the people in my "reality" would be doing should they suddenly find themselves in eveyrone else's world. It was a lot of fun to create and I can only hope you'll be entertained by it.
This calendar contains what I feel to be some of my best, and most popular, work. It begins Oct. 2009 and goes through all of next year. Included are several landscapes, featuring some of my recurring characters, drawn in almost numbing detail. When I die I want people to look at them and say, "Wow, that guy was a hellava good cartoonist!" (well, I can always dream, right?)
